Paul co-founded FluGen in 2007 with UW–Madison virologists Yoshihiro Kawaoka and Gabriele Neumann, and has led the company since. Under his leadership FluGen has raised more than $100 million in capital and grants and completed multiple human clinical trials of M2SR including ~700 subjects on vaccine. He spent over 10 years with Eli Lilly in international pharmaceutical operations, marketing and business development, then managed the pharmaceuticals portfolio — including the vitamin D analogs — at the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, and served as VP of Business Development at Deltanoid Pharmaceuticals. He is a past president and board member of BioForward, Wisconsin’s biotechnology association, and serves on the boards of Plumb Pharmaceuticals and Co-D Therapeutics.
