Susan Conroy

Dr Susan Conroy has more than 25 years’ experience working in the development and commercialisation of both new and reformulated medicines with a focus on improving the route of delivering the medicines. She has extensive expertise spanning clinical development, intellectual property, regulatory strategy, licensing and commercial partnerships, with a focus on therapies for underserved patient populations.

Susan has been CEO of Therakind since its inception, initially as a consultant to subsequently leading the company from its spinout to a profitable SME, with three approved products (including an FDA approved product), eight completed clinical trials and having successfully obtained substantial European and UK grant funding for several collaborative programmes. Therakind has established a strong track record in developing innovative therapies for niche indications now focussed on the development of next-generation nasal delivery device technology.

Alongside her executive career, Susan is a Trustee of Anthony Nolan, a UK based charity with a revenue of over £70m, dedicated to saving the lives of people with blood cancer and blood disorders.

Prior to Therakind, Susan held scientific and commercial roles as well as working as a consultant for large and small pharma companies. She began her career in academic research, completing a PhD and then post-doctoral studies at University College, London focused on molecular biology, immunology and autoimmune diseases.
